We happily accept cash,  e transfer or check.  We are currently unable to accept debit or credit cards.  Pails are supplied, but you are also welcome to use your own containers.

Just a brief note of explanation, as we are a small family farm when things get busy here we are all outside helping our guests and picking produce. We do not have much time to check facebook, voice mail or email during the day. We try, but sometimes we just cannot get out of the field. If you phone our berry line, 403-507-8994 most likely we will not be around to answer it. If you have a question please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Phil

Upick season is just around the corner.  We are currently guessing we should have ripe saskatoons around July 18th, and sour cherries early August.  Unfortunately it appears that the raspberries took winterkill again so there will not be many of them.  The cherry tomatoes and cucumbers are slow and will be later in August before they are ready.  The saskatoon and cherry crops are looking good at the moment, so hopefully the hail and birds stay away and we can have a great harvest.

Sept 8

I would now say that our upick fruit season is finished.  We still have some cherry and roma tomatoes in the greenhouses, but the fruit side is pretty well finished for the year.  We have lots of frozen saskatoons, chicken and beef in the freezer  so if you are wanting to stop by for some great produce, send us an email at phil@saskaberryranch.com or give us a call at 403-507-8994.  We hope to see you soon.

Aug 24

We are now open by appointment for upick on our farm.  We still have raspberries, sour cherries, rhubarb, cucumbers, and tomatoes for upick and we have frozen saskatoons, chicken and beef in the freezer. If you are wanting to stop by for some great produce, send us an email at phil@saskaberryranch.com or give us a call at 403-507-8994.  We hope to see you soon.

Aug 20

Picking update. We still have sour cherries for picking, the easy picking ones are gone, but we still have a fair amount hiding in the bushes. And the raspberries are recovering from the weekend and have ripe berries again. If you are craving fresh saskatoons this year, there are a few out there still but their days are numbered. We do have lots of frozen saskatoons.  With the rate the bushes are ripening and being picked, we are planning on ending our 2025 upick field season after this Saturday.

Aug 11

We have a fair amount of sour cherries ready now, and we still have some prime saskatoons, but we are getting a lot of over ripe saskatoons, so the picking is slowing down.  The cucumbers are just starting and the tomatoes are on the verge of going great.  And depending on the day, there may be some raspberries as well.

Aug 5

We still have lots of saskatoons, but we are seeing more and more over ripe ones, so the sooner you can come pick yours the better.  We have some sour cherries ready for picking and more will be ripening over the next 2 weeks, and hopefully we will have some cherry tomatoes and long English cucumbers soon.  And don’t forget, we are open late on Thursday.

July 30

The saskatoon picking is still amazing.  As one guest said, we have an insane amount of saskatoons.  But as time goes by, the end of our fresh season gets closer, so the sooner you can get yours the better.  There are a few sour cherries ready, but not many yet and it is not looking like we will have much for raspberries this year.  And for those wondering, yes, we will be open Holiday Monday.

July 15, 2025

The Saskatoons ripened faster than expected, so we are now OPEN.  The bushes are loaded and we are hoping for a great season.

July 11, 2025

The saskatoons are looking great, just needing some more time in the sunshine.  We are currently looking at opening for upick on July 18th for picking saskatoons.  The sour cherries will likely be early August before they are ready.

June 7, 2025

Upick season is just around the corner.  We are currently guessing we should have ripe saskatoons by mid July, and sour cherries early August.  Unfortunatly it appears that most of the raspberries took winterkill so there will not be many of them.  The cherry tomatoes and cucumbers are running slow with the cool nights we have had and will be later in August before they are ready.  The saskatoon and cherry crops are looking good at the moment, so hopefully the hail and birds stay away and we can have a great harvest

Sept 1

I was just out checking our fields and sadly I would say that we are now out of fruit for picking. We still have cherry tomatoes and long English cucumbes in the greenhouse but unfortunately that is all we have right now for picking. We do still have some fresh eggs, raw honey, frozen saskatoons, chicken, lamb, beef, saskatoon jelly, and wheat berries so you are welcome to stop by and see if we are home, or make an appointment  grab some delicious products, but our upick season is winding down. Thanks to all of you who stopped by and helped get our harvest into your hands. It was a great upick season.

Aug 29

We still have a few sour cherries left, but I was out picking this afternoon and we have a lot of wasps who are also loving the sour cherries. So just a heads up for you on that. We are open this Friday, Saturday and holiday Monday and then I think the upick fruit season will be finished. We still have some cherry tomatoes and cucumbers for picking though, and lots of chicken, lamb and beef. Have a great weekend.

Aug 15 pm

We had a great run of fresh saskatoons, but sadly I would say the fresh season has ended.  Thankfully, we still have some frozen ones in the freezer.  But the sour cherries are still absolutely loaded.  This is by far our best season yet.  People keep picking cherries, but the bushes still look full and the branches are bending low with all the weight on them.  So come on out and get a bunch.  And with a great crop like this one, I’m just afraid that next summer we will not have near as many, so you may want to grab some extra just in case.

Aug 15

We are almost out of fresh saskatoons for this year, but we have LOTS of sour cherries and the picking is great.  Come on out and grab some of these tasty berries.

Aug 10

It is a beautiful day and we have lots of fruit for you.  Yes, we still have big juicy saskatoons but the picking is getting slow so if you are wanting some fresh saskatoons yet this year now is the time to come out.  We also have some delicious sour cherries ready, and there are lots of them as of this morning.  We do have a few cherry tomatoes ready as well.

Aug 6

We had a great day yesterday and while we still have some saskatoons yet, the picking is starting to get slower.  But as one guest told me yesterday, if you are used to wild picking it is still great.  There are a few sour cherries ready with more ripening slowly.  It is to be a little damp the next couple of days so you may want to bring a coat.

Aug 5

We are open holiday Monday.  Saskatoon picking is still great, we have a lot of big juicy saskatoons waiting for you, they are just not right beside our berry shack.  We are starting to see some overripe ones coming in though, so the saskatoon season is getting close to being finished so hurry and come get your fresh ones.  The sour cherries are ripening slow this year but they are coming along, as are the cherry tomatoes.  Our cucumbers will be a bit yet.

July 31

The saskatoon picking is still great.  We have lots of saskatoons still out there and the picking is easy.  Big juicy clusters just waiting for you.  So come on out and get them before they are gone.  And with the long weekend coming up, we WILL BE OPEN holiday Monday.

July 24,

Wow, not sure how time has flown by so fast without an update, but we are open and the picking is great.  We have lots of big juicy clusters of saskatoons just waiting to grabbed.  The weather is forecast to cool off a bit, so now is a perfect time to stop by and get your saskatoons.

July 18th,

We will be opening July 20th.  The picking likely will not be super fast yet, but the berries are big and juicy.  We also have fresh rhubarb ready and we now have this season’s chicken in the freezer.  And just a heads up for you, we hate to do this, but given recent inflation we now have a $1 deposit on our upick pails.  We will have bags here for you to use no charge.

July 15th,

Things are looking great, there are lots of fruit slowly ripening, just not very fast.  At the moment the earliest we may be open is July 20th, but we will have to wait and see how they ripen this week.  Stay tuned.

July 2, 2024

Upick season is just around the corner.  We are currently guessing we should have ripe saskatoons by Late July, sour cherries early August, and possibly even some raspberries in August.  The cherry tomatoes and cucumbers are running slow with the cool weather we have had and will be later in August before they are ready.  The saskatoon and cherry crops are looking good at the moment, so hopefully the hail and birds stay away and we can have a great harvest.
